New work with Tim Casson - Hannah's view
Hannah reflects on her time with Tim Casson…
From 2010 to 2015, I've been a trainee dancer and am now on a graduation process into Stopgap's main team. At the moment I'm working with Nadenh a lot (another graduate) we are now teaching Farnham Youth Group and working together with a professional choreographer, Tim Casson, who’s work will be performed in 2016.
From the end of September 2015 till February 2016, Nadenh and I are working with Tim Casson. The company Tim runs is called 'Casson and Friends'. This company is dance based and a bit like musical theatre, which includes acting, dancing and vocalisation. The piece he's creating on us is about our personalities and each other's interests. The first week was mainly about ourselves and playing with each other by storytelling, making language with our hands, making our stories into ballet, happy solos, turning our happy solos into a group phrase, dreamlike duets, the 'do’s and don'ts' in a theatre and to explore the words 'nervous', 'scared' and 'curious'.
I'm looking forward to performing his work and maybe use this piece for inspiration in Stopgap's future workshops as repertoire.
