Vicki Busfield Creative Learning Associate
Vicki Busfield graduated from Northern Ballet School in 2001 and later went on to train at London Contemporary Dance School gaining a 1st class BA (Hons) degree in contemporary dance.
Over the course of her career Vicki has had the opportunity to work overseas as well as in the UK in a broad range of roles such as dance artist, choreographer, teacher, community practioner and project manager. She has choreographed work for large scale theatre performances, dance films, and site specific events most recently an inclusive float as part of the Lord Mayors Show (2015) and with older adults for Art Night: Dance All Night (2017).
Her performance credits include work by Kerry Nicholls, Aletta Collins, Victoria Marks and Katie Green. She performed in 'Pictures from an Exhibition' at the Young Vic choreographed by Frauke Requardt and was a dancer in the London Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony.
Vicki has extensive experience working inclusively with all ages and abilities from toddlers through to older adults.
She specialises in teaching people with dementia as part of her role with Green Candle Dance Company and leads workshops for trainee teachers in dance and dementia, inclusive practice and cross-curricular learning in education. She works as a Dance Educator for Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, Freelance Teacher for The Place, Dance Artist for Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance, SEND Dance Artist for RADiate, a programme of the RAD and is Artistic Director for her company, DashDotDance.
By drawing on her knowledge and passion for dance, Vicki aims to support and inspire her participants to develop their own individual creative potential and is motivated by the joy she witnesses in her students from their accomplishments big and small.
Vicki delivers StopGap's Artificial Things' workshops in schools as part of the GCSE dance syllabus and is an IRIS artist, teaching the syllabus to her company's youth group DashDot/YouthDance.
