Are you curious about inclusive dance? Would you like to make your dance teaching more inclusive but are unsure where to start? Everyone should have the opportunities to dance, but disabled dancers or other diverse dancers face barriers to mainstream dance activities, often because teachers don’t feel confident in making their practice more inclusive.
To help more dance teachers find their way into inclusive teaching, Holland Dance Festival and Stopgap Dance Company have joined up to produce a series of eight short video guides to introduce Stopgap’s inclusive teaching practice.
Rooted in Stopgap’s more than 20 years’ experience they take the mystery out of inclusive teaching and show that making your dance practice more inclusive will benefit everyone.
“Good inclusive teaching practice is really just an extension of good teaching practice. If you are interested in becoming a more inclusive dance teacher, in and brushing up on your teaching skills along the way, then you’re in the right place!”
