Dancers Mo and Christian duet in a bright studio. Mo, a small statured Disabled Black woman, reclines away from the camera on the floor, supported on one elbow with the other hand curling up and over her head. Christian, a tall white non-disabled man, crouches with one leg extended to the side as he reaches behind Mo to the floor, offering gentle support.
Join Stopgap’s Co Artistic Director Lucy Bennett, Assistant Artistic Director (Future Leader) Monique Dior Jarrett and Dance Artists Hannah Sampson and Emily Lue–Fong for a three-day movement intensive that will give a practical insight into the company’s current inclusive choreographic practice.
Aimed at Disabled and non-disabled professional artists (including graduates and those in training). The three days will consist of an inclusive company dance class followed by creative tasks, improvisation and discussions. The company artists will touch on Stopgap’s latest adventure into the aesthetics of access alongside their more noted choreographic methods of ‘Translation’ and ‘Texture’ work. All of which are a part of their latest touring production Lived Fiction.
