Stopgap secures funding from Arts Council England

Stopgap secures funding for the next four years as a National Portfolio Organisation...

Stopgap Dance Company are delighted to have learned this morning that we have received an uplift in funding from Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation from 2018 to 2022.  In this four-year funding period, Stopgap will receive a total of £1,106,616, a 44% increase, to create and tour inclusive works to theatres and outdoor spaces and to consolidate our ongoing commitment to training the next generation of disabled dancers.
Stopgap’s Executive Producer Sho Shibata says:
‘We are thrilled to receive this vote of confidence from Arts Council England and would like to thank all our colleagues, partners, funders and supporters past and present who contributed to developing Stopgap’s practice and vision. We are looking forward to expanding our work to demonstrate that excellence and inclusion can be achieved hand in hand from grassroots right up to international stages.’
