Asher Norridge

Asher started learning Contemporary dance at Dexterity Dance in Northampton, and went on to do their Ba(hons)Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban where he got a First Class degree in 2024. Asher was a student representative and worked with choreographers such as Gary Lambert, Protima Chatterjee, Stephanie Schober, Amarnah Ufuoma Cleopatra as well working on a short film with Mugler and authoring an article for Trinity Laban titled ‘Asher Norridge on performance, poetry, and contemporary creative practice’. After Graduating Asher has been freelancing and worked on the dance film Sick by Taira Foo. 

Asher is currently on placement with Stopgap as a part of his Ma Professional Placement Scheme with Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Asher is interested in screen dance working in front and behind the camera and this has been the focus of much of his studies, directing/ performing in Films such as Diverge, a short film tracking the day of a neurodivergent person highlighting sensory overload and internal dialogue which has now been taken on by a team of neurodivergence coaches, and My Eyes Begin To Break a short multidisciplinary film exploring the lived experience of men suffering with depression and anxiety. Asher’s movement style and interests are rooted in contact improvisation, dynamic floorwork and release technique.
