Joy Ralph

Joy began working with Stopgap in 2010 on a professional placement year as part of her degree course. She went on to graduate from the University of Surrey in 2012 with a BA Honours in Dance and Culture.

During her placement year Joy worked with Stopgap to assist on the Trespass UK tour; in the office and as education assistant at workshops and Stopgap’s youth companies. She also supported the initial research process for Stopgap’s three publications.

In 2011 Joy took on the role of understudy for SPUN Productions preview outdoor tour and in 2014 danced with the company whilst they toured Tracking (for the last time!) in Spain.

Joy returned to Stopgap in March 2013 as Laura’s access worker allowing her to tour and also become Assistant stage manager with Artificial Things. During this time Joy also continued to support with educational workshops. In 2015 Joy made the move to the office to become Administrator. From 2018 Joy began working closely with the Creative Learning team and Stopgap’s apprentice company, Sg2. She is now the company’s Creative Learning Manager.
