Either side of them, Christian and Hannah (L) and Alice and Jannick (R), lift and jump together. The women wear black trousers and white shirts, and the men wear patterned dresses and floral skirts. Stopgap Dance Company are thrilled to announce that we will continue to receive core funding from Arts Council England. As a National Portfolio Organisation, we will be receiving £450,000 per year between April 2023 and March 2026, an uplift of 60% from the previous funding cycle. We thank the Arts Council for their show of confidence in our work and recognising our sector leadership for diversity and inclusion.
The uplift funding will enable Stopgap to make even more ambitious touring productions and to run a bespoke leadership development programme for D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent dance artists, managers and educators.
We look forward to announcing further details of our upcoming programme and to working with our partners and Arts Council England to make the dance industry more inclusive and representative.
Whilst the settlement for us was positive today, our hearts go out to the many brilliant arts colleagues who were unsuccessful with their funding application.
