Christian Brinklow

Christian joined Stopgap in March 2016 and is now in the role of Senior Dance Artist, Artist Development and PPS lead. He works to nurture and develop artists taking placements with the company, supporting them on their artistic journey. He also delivers CPDs, workshops and residencies.

Christian has collaborated with Stopgap on numerous productions including The Enormous Room, The Awakening, Moon Language, The Road, Frippery and Frock. Christian has also collaborated with Resident Choreographer, Chris Pavia on The Journey Between and Beyond The Waves. Most recently, he has collaborated on Stopgap’s newest indoor work Lived Fiction and begun to tour the work with the company. He has also worked with choreographer Nadenh Poan on his duet Reflections and is soon to join the creation of a new outdoor work.

Christian has lead SG Troop, Stopgap’s adult dance company, for a number of years and collaborates with them to create performance work for stage and film.

Over his years at Stopgap, Christian has worked on developing bespoke inclusive fitness classes for the company and is also a qualified Sports Massage Therapist.

He trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2012 and then joined the NSCD postgraduate company, Verve 13.

Christian has previously worked with artists including James Wilton; Gary Clarke;; Carlos Pons Guerra; Douglas Thorpe and Cie Utilite Publique in Lausanne, Switzerland.
