Christian Brinklow

Christian joined Stopgap as a company member: dance artist and teacher, in March 2016.

Christian has collaborated with Stopgap on numerous productions including The Enormous Room, The Awakening, Moon Language, The Road, Frippery and Frock, Stopgap’s newest outdoor work. He has had the privilege of being able to tour these works nationally and internationally. He will also be dancing in the company’s newest indoor production, beginning creation in November 2022. Christian has also collaborated with Resident Choreographer, Chris Pavia on Journey Between and Beyond The Waves. He has also greatly enjoyed leading and taking part in residencies and workshops with his colleagues, making work, restaging pieces and delivering technique, creative classes and CPD’s.

Christian has lead SG Troop, Stopgap’s adult dance company, for a number of years and collaborates with them to create performance work for stage and film.

As of November 2022, Christian will now be taking on the role of Senior Dance Artist, Artist Development and PPS lead. He will work to nurture and develop artists taking placements with the company, supporting them on their artistic journey.

He trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2012 and then joined the NSCD postgraduate company, Verve 13.

Christian has previously worked with artists including James Wilton; Gary Clarke; Barnaby Booth; Carlos Pons Guerra; Jack Stinton Dance Company, Douglas Thorpe and Cie Utilite Publique in Lausanne, Switzerland.
